A steel construction project (IP3) during my exchange semester at Hochschule für technik Stuttgart.

Task was to design an airplane hanger in Kirchheim, Stuttgart with the following specifications. 
1,000 m² free spanned area
15m height (over at least 1/3 of the area)
Gate opening 20m.

Visitors facilities

Concept was to use ETFE folie kissen: a inflated building envelope structure, hand by hand with a steel structure. which provides high standards in terms of insulation and fire resistance, and crests an interesting translucent effect on the elevations.
